The care of livestock and other farm animals along with the production is managed by the ranch manager. They oversee the ranging process which includes the raising and birthing of all livestock. A Ranch manager must ensure that their livestock is being raised to market standards, purchase the proper equipment, and organize the maintenance of animal shelters and pastures. To work on a larger Farm and Ranch manager hires, trains, and manages other workers. Ranch manager look after harvesting, planting, cultivating, financial, or marketing activities

• To breed and raise stock, such as poultry, cattle, or honeybees
• To evaluate sales or marketing alternatives for ranch products.
• To monitor the activities such as chemical application, irrigation, harvesting, milking, breeding, to ensure safety regulations or standards.
• To negotiate with buyers for the storage, sale, or shipment of crops or livestock.
• To inspect farms or ranches such as roads, buildings, fences, ordering repair, or maintenance activities, as needed.
• To maintain operational, financial, production, or employment records for ranches

• The skills and abilities to become an agricultural or farm manager are that the individual must be emphatic towards the rural folks and their problems, enthusiastic about working towards the betterment of the people.
• Should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, good listener, must be very well organized should have an analytical mind, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are also important
• Should be respectful, outgoing, friendly and should be caring towards the rural people, ability to handle masses, able to handle pressure and work under tight deadlines, must possess leadership qualities, must be tech-savvy, ability to persuade & convince people, strong reasoning aptitude.
